CORONADO SUNFLOWER PROJECT 2011 September 6, 2011
From Kenny and Sean:
It's our vision for sunflowers to appear not just on the two-acre VOS field, but also all throughout downtown!
We encourage you to plant a few sunflowers in front of your home or business this week. We aim for them to all start blooming together around town :)
Plant your own seeds, or contact Kenny (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Sean (email@example.com) to get a few of ours.
Historic Coronado will participate by planting sunflowers in the traffic Circle at 12th and Oak Streets. Yes we will clear some space. East Side Grace aka Grace Newton and I will have available prepackaged seeds (the giant kind) attached to the first palm tree at my home 902 East Coronado Road on the 9th. Harvested from the Sunflower that grew in the Circle this past summer. We will be planting this Saturday the 10th at 8AM if you want to stop by and get seeds then also.
In the circle we will be planting Peach Passion and Sunspot, a smaller and lower variety because of the location in the circle.
The Valley of the Sunflowers has asked that as many people in Phoenix as possible help turn this into the true valley of the sunflowers.
Sunflowers are easy to grow.......sun and water.....HERE is a great link to more infomation on growing sunflowers in Phoenix.
