Suggestion Coronado most beautiful place
October 11, 2011

Intersection of 12th and Oak
Years ago the Coronado community came together in one of the largest gatherings in the area since the effort to obtain Historic Neighborhood status. Like that effort the placement of the traffic circle at 12th and Oak, and the Virginia Avenue/North High traffic mitigation plans were a sucess...go figure Nodians working hard together can accomplish anything.

The placement of the Traffic Circle at 12th and Oak had two goals, the first was to calm the traffic on 12th and the second was to provide a location for focus of our sense of place and to let the folks driving home on 12th know where they were and what Coronado was about.

The installation of the Historic lights and the ability to take on the landscaping were just the begriming. There was then the addition of the Tuck Shop restaurant, followed by the renovation of the Musicians building. The Solar company fixed up and takes care of the location on the SW corner. Salem has recently added the sign in front of the Sunshine Market that spells out to the travelers on 12 where and who we are. This had been a dream of his since we worked on the Traffic Circle from the begriming. DJ is now expanding the Tuck Shop into the commercial location south of his restaurant. decorating the Traffic Circle for various holidays has been a passion of E-Hood for years.

The beauty is in the fact that we came together and built this area in the center of the neighborhood and all of the pedestrian friendly businesses along with the beauty of the flowers makes this we suggest the most beautiful place that we built together in Coronado.

PS we could use the money to spruce up the Holiday Decorations this year.
