Going Solar
April 27th 2010

Beginning Wednesday April 28th, 2010 I will be having a Solar Electric system placed on the roof of my home....... as a neighbor or friend I invite you to stop by and see the process first hand, if you have considered this option. the system will provide 120% of my annual electric consumption. Yes I plan on turning my A/C a little lower this summer.

It did not hit me until I saw the design plans that requires APS to place a "bi-directional meter" on my home.

I have had prior experience with solar in the Mountains of Honduras and in the deserts of Morocco on friends homes there. I believe that in hindsight the biggest obstacle in my path towards this goal was to change my thinking and my statements to others from "why I could not have solar" to the beginnings of discussion with those who could explain to me "how I could have solar on my home". With what seems like 520 days of sunshine here in Arizona it really made as much sense as acquiring a taste for seafood and learning how to fish prior to living on a sailboat on a round the world trip.

So if you would like to begin to think differently regarding your ability for Solar Power, and need a hands on experience and a friendly chat with a neighbor rather than a sales pitch then contact me and come on over. I had to do some prior retro fitting and upgrading of my 1930's service entrance.

While I usually do not get the horse in front of the cart and am usually the turnip that gets bumped off the wagon, I think this time I got it right and would like to share with anyone interested........
